My dress is off white and the bridesmaids' dresses are mint green.
Here are the bridesmaids dresses

I have no problem going w/faux flowers in order to use black flowers but I'm not 100% sure if this is what I want. I am not worried about it looking too gothic. We're not a gothic couple but we are also not the typical, classic couple.
Is black or white the only colors that will work?
Any ideas?
THANKS :)
What color flowers do I use for a mint green, black and off white wedding?
Yellow roses and lily of the valley.
Bird of paradise
Gerbera daisies in bright fusia or orange and yellow
My sister and I made her bouquets out of paper twist and gold ribbons and accents.
I don't think black flowers would look good.
Reply:Use white and green flowers. You can accent using black ribbon to tie them and get black beads to make some boquet jewels. If you decide you want "black" flowers don't use black silks. It's highly unatural so will look very cheap. Instead, choose dark colored flowers that appear black like a deep purple calla lilly or a chocolate cosmo.
Hydrangeas come in white and pale green, there are green orchids, white roses with greenery. Even though the girl's dresses are green if you make the bouquets predominately white they'll still show up great.
Reply:Cala lilies, Lilly of the valley
Reply:You can surround cream colored flowers with lots of dark greenery, or you can add another color - something bright - so there's plenty of contrast between the mint green dresses and the flowers. You spend a lot of $ on the flowers so you want them to show up well in the photos and during the ceremony - you can also use them to form decorations on the head table or the cake table by having the bridesmaids place them there for the reception - a fairly common practice. The mint green dresses are an excellent choice because it's considered a neutral - and all colors of flowers will go with them!
Reply:My colors are hunter green, chocolate brown, and ivory. I found a lot of flowers in my search to bring in the green and brown into my bouquet.
Here are some thoughts:
Cybidium orchids:

Chartreuse zinnia (I am using in bouquet):

Green hydrangeas (I am using in centerpieces):

And here is a calla that you might want to use. It is probably pricey. I am using one called "Naomi."

You could do a mix of various flowers so that they aren't all black or green or ivory. We are also using some ivory roses.
Good luck.

Reply:No...don't do black flowers! Talk to your florist and they can put somethings together, but I think that a pretty pink would look awesome! You need a color that is opposite of the green dresses, that would be pink! Some peony's or hydrangeas would be nice. Congrats!

I personally would use brighter tones as pastels and ivory/cream tones will blend with the mint and ivory. Against the black anything pops so that is no problem. As in nature, your green is the perfect backdrop to whatever colors you want!
Good Luck
Reply:lilly.-blurey
Reply:White cala lilies mixed w/ either bear grass or bells of ireland. Beautiful!
Reply:Purples go really nice with green. I woudn't personally go for black flowers... but you can also use a lot of greenery in the bouquets to get the green in there - and it makes it cheaper too! Yellow could also work nicely - even together with the purple - it would give a nice summery feel.
