Can lilies flower more than once a season?

Is it required to prune back the plant in order for them to flower a second time during the season?

Can lilies flower more than once a season?
no... they will never flower more then once in a single season! after the flowers fade snip off the bud that the flowers was on or the plant will put it's energy into making seeds which will take forever to grow and bloom.
Reply:Lilies, by thier nature, bloom only once a season. The trick here is to plant lilies of different varieties and blooming times to give an illusion that they are 'everblooming'.
Reply:I have lilies all over my yard and I have never seen them flower more than once a year...you may have some slow starters that flower later than the others, but the same plant re-flowering...I don't think so. I trim back the dead stalks that have already flowered and haven't seen any second blooms.
Reply:roses...yes. lilies...no.
Reply:day lillies
