What is the web site for ordering flowers on the internet?

find a local florist in the area in which the flowers are to be delivered. That way you avoid all of the 'service' and 'relay' charges that are accrued when you go through two or three different florists.

www.flowers.com

I've used them several times, and it has always been so successful! They get the arrangement to where it needs to be exactly when you need it. I highly reccommend them. It actually is a company called 1-800-Flowers. They are great!

Are florist order gatherers like 1300 flowers .com.au better than dealing with a real florist?

I dont want to talk about 1300flowers specifically, but generally speaking ordering from your local florist or from an online florist each have their advantages and disadvantages. Whilst companies like 1300flowers aren't florists and take a commission for orders they gather, they provide a convenience factor that you pay for. They are easy to contact via the internet or phone. When you phone the florist directly, you dont really know what standard you are going to get. If they dont have a web site, you can be ordering sight unseen and a lot of small florists have trouble rotating stock therefore you may be sending flowers that dont last too long. On the plus side, the florist may not be charging you for the amount of the commission that would go to the order gatherer or the relay service fee they are probably paying also. In my opinion, you are best dealing with real florists that are part of a network like us at http://www.galleryflowers.com.au or rosetime.com.au .

Because we are florists you get to speak to a florist, not a telephone operator. You can select from our standard range or make up something to order. Florist to florist networks share their orders amongst themselves which translates into better value for the customer because third party relay fees are avoided. So, its up to you.

What kind of vegetables, fruits, and flowers are good to grow in Houston, TX?

I am planning my yard and would like to do my own landscaping. What kind of vegetables, herbs, flowers and fruits are good for Houston climate hot, humid summer and mild winter. I want the fruit trees to serve both as fruit bearing as well as for shade to my house. The flowers should be a melangé of color. The vegetables should be able to supply seasonal veggies to my dining table. I know it is a tall order but any help would be appreciated. Thanks

What kind of vegetables, fruits, and flowers are good to grow in Houston, TX?
Tomatoes, strawberries, asparagus, squash, zuccini, watermelons (certain varieties will do much better than others), corn, okra (loves that climate), all types of peppers, carrots, onions, beats, radish, potatoes, pumpkins, cilantro, basil, canteloupe... hell, just about anything. Here's a link to our veg group... join it for better info....

Reply:You could grow orange, plum, fig, pear and certain types of apple trees in your area. (Fall is the best time to plant so get ready!)

Herbs: Basil, rosemary, all types of mint...wow, you can grow almost any type herb. (indoors or outdoors)

Flowers.... Geraniums grow well in TX...they come in a variety of colors. Mexican Heather has small purple flowers. Lantana and sage comes in different colors also...

Visit your local Home Depot or Lowes. They will have the trees at the best prices with a year warranty. They will also have the plants that are in season.

Vegetables...I am not sure about...I have only grown tomatos. (those can be planted twice/year in your area).

Why do my indoor potted flowers die? I water them 1-3 times a week.?

Its mostly my gerbria ( not sure I spelt It right ). What kind of care does this type of flower require In order for It to stay looking healthy and alive. Also how often do they require watering. Most my plants and flowers die or droop.

Thank you.

Why do my indoor potted flowers die? I water them 1-3 times a week.?
Make sure there is plenty of light but not heat. I even find that ventillation helps. Windows open from time to time.

Use a good indoor pot plant fertiliser. That's the key.

Don't over water- once a week is ok. But when you do, make it a good watering. Put them in the sink or whatever an really water. Then leave them alone to do their thing.

Also, go talk to a plant shop person. They're usually really helpful.

If they're drooping it's water....dying is worse...
Reply:Over watering, especially in the dormant winter cycle might be your culprit.
Reply:the flower wont last on a gerbera in or out doors once the season is over that's it for the flower!

but outside the plant will stay %26amp; flower next year,

not sure if you can keep inside once it's finished flowering, but don't water much for indoor plants check if the soil is dry first,

I just have real common junky type of plants for indoor %26amp; they get no attention or food %26amp; they all thrive, the only name i have for one is the umberella %26amp; oh yeah mother in-law tongue is another, %26amp; you know that one you see in all the TV shows, its green skinny leaves %26amp; it looks real posh they are so great for indoors, even if its a dark kind of room, i even just stick a cutting straight into a pot %26amp; bring it straight in the house %26amp; a few lower leaves will fall off %26amp; then its fine

but i never use potting mix, i just use dirt %26amp; i've heard dirt is a no no but its works great
Reply:Because you are over watering them and they suffer from root rot. Cut down to once a week and don't be afraid to re-pot them in fresh soil.
Reply:Hello try put some stones in the bottom of the pot this helps drain the water and grow strong roots!

I need help with Mothers day flowers?

I want to order my mum a really nice bouquet of flowers for mothers day. I've looked at a couple of well known flower delivery sevices but they all have really traditional pink flowers and my mum hates pink, and isn't keen on traditional.

Any advice on what flowers work well together and are modern in case i have to make my own bouquet?

If anyone knows where i can find some flowers that are a bit different from the norm online i would greatly appreciate it!

I need help with Mothers day flowers?
M%26amp;S (Marks and Spencer) have some lovely contemporary bouquets online for Mothers Day. :-)
Reply:Most high street florists do Interflora, or similar delivery service. Go into one, preferably your local one, and talk to them about it. They'll advise you on colour choice and what's available. This way, your mum gets what YOU want her to have, not what SOMEONE ELSE thinks she wants to have.

I know you want to do it online, but I think you'll be better off talking to somebody...that personal touch can make all the difference. Your mum is unique, her bouquet should be too

hope this helps xx
Reply:My mama used to love it when we picked her daffodils..
Reply:One year I got my mother a rose bush for Mother's Day- Blaze, which is a very vibrant red.

As for what flowers work well together- well, that depends on your tastes and what kind of look you're trying for. A few times I've made bouquets from wisteria and a few others that grew wild where I lived.

Good luck!

I have sent and received ProFlowers (from ProFlowers.com) and in both instances I was very happy with the results. Great service and fresh, long-lasting flowers.
