Need to do my own flowers for my May wedding and looking to order online but would be less nervous about buying something I could actually go and see and bring home with me to avoid possible delivery or quality issues.
Is there a wholesale flower outlet in Atlanta that will sell to individuals instead of just florists?
If you are doing a wedding that requires many flowers I think your best bet would be to call the local wholesaler and talk with them. It doesn't hurt to ask.

Where is a good place to buy vegetables and plants online? I am in Northern California and want a good variety
If you are anywhere near Sonoma County, you are in a nursery hotbed! I would scour around locally before buying via mail (unless you wants seeds....).
At this time of year, there are a lot of plant sales coming. There will be the Occidental Art and Ecology plant sale (in Occidental and all organic-tons of unusual veggies), the Harvest for the Hungry plant sale (in Santa Rosa-lots of veggies and perennials), Willowside School (in Santa Rosa) has plants sales... this is just to name a few. If you check in "The Press Democrat" in the gardening section they list all the upcoming events.
Now for nurseries, there are sooooo many!!! We have a great range from the specialty to the full service. Grab your phone book and let your fingers do the walking - you may be surprised at what you see. There is a book dedicated just to Sonoma County nurseries, it's titled "The Guide to Sonoma County Nurseries" by SpringHill Press (their site is under construction).
If you edit your question and give your location, I may be able to help further with specific nurseries.
Happy Gardening! :)
EDIT: Here are some seed catalogues to try...
I got a ton of heirloom tomatoes here: http://www.heirloomtomatoes.bizland.com/
Burpee has a little of everything: http://www.burpee.com/
Renee's Garden has a wonderful selection of neat things: http://www.reneesgarden.com/
I love this catalogue based out of the UK, I drool over it: http://www.thompson-morgan.com/
Reply:Try the burpee website. They have seeds and plants to order on line. I'd try burpee.com or goolgle "Burpee" seeds.
Reply:I get seeds from several companies but mostly from "Thompson and Morgan" or from "park Seeds", for perennial plants the best place Ive found is "bluestone Perennials" mine come by second day air and in 20 years Ive only had one batch of 3 plants that were not good and they replaced them for me.
Reply:Hi, I have had really good luck with ebay actually. But if you want a nursery Spring Hill is a good site. I had good luck with orders from them.

Wayside Gardens is nice but pricey
http://www.waysidegardens.com/webapp/wcs...
But my new favorite is Holly Hill Nurseries - They have wholesale lots and as I have 1 acre to landscape you can't beat their prices. I am getting an order soon so I will know better then how good the plants are.

Was it a bad idea for me to send this girl flowers?
I didn't know this girl that well. I'm 24 and she's 19. We hung out twice several months ago and she kind of acted like she liked me. I bumped into her at a party the other night. She asked me if I remembered her and I forgot who she was briefly which seemed to upset her. I remembered later. Anyway, I realized I liked her a lot that night. She is going through a tough time because her friend is in the hospital and I went ahead and ordered her some flowers (not roses) and had them delivered to her parents house where she stays yesterday afternoon. I put on the card "Smile, Kassi...from a guy who's very sorry he forgot your name." We have no way to contacting each other except through Myspace and I haven't gotten a message or anything from her, so i'm just wondering do you all think that I maybe I creeped her out?

I don't think you creep her out. She is just dealing with a lot, You probable put a smile on her face. That was sweet and thoughtful.

In what order does the bridal party march into the church?
Does the maid/matron of honor go first (following mother of the bride, of course) then the bridesmaids and the flower girl just prior to the bride or do the bridesmaids go first, then the maid/matron of honor, flower girl and then bride?
In what order does the bridal party march into the church?
I just looked this up and I think that this is the order at the weddings that I have been to
Groom's family is seated on the Right
Bride's family is seated on the Left
Grandparents of the Groom
Grandparents of the Bride
Mother and Father of the Groom
Mother of the Bride,
Officiant with Groom, Bestman and groomsmen
Bridesmaid (who will be standing furtherest from the bride)
Bridesmaid
Bridesmaid etc.
Maid of Honor
Ring bearer %26amp; Flower girl
Bride on her father's left arm (or person of her choosing)
Reply:Personally I would go bridesmaids, maid/matron and then flower girls with the flowers laid out on the floor and then of course the Bride! That is what I would do. Have been to plenty of weddings and I think that looks the best.
Reply:You can do it any way you wish, but generally the flower girls/ring bearer go right before the bride.
Reply:Flower girl, bridesmaids, maid of honor, bride.
Reply:flower girl, then maids, then maid/matron of honor, then bride.
Best wishes to you!

She probably doesn't know what to think. But they probably were nice to get so, even if you never see her again, be happy that you did a nice thing. :)
Reply:It's possible. You never know. I would say that yes...you probably did but that doesn't mean I am right. I would tell her that you are sorry if the flowers might have scared her and tell her that you just wanted to apologize. Give her some time to respond. Like you said, she is going through a tough time right now.
Reply:No...I think what you did would please most ladies. You sound like a really nice guy.
Reply:You did fine. Send her a message via MySpace, ask her if she'd like to get together for a cuppa coffee at Starbucks and chat or something.
Reply:No, it was a nice gesture. Maybe she just hasn't gotten online lately and has been spending time with her friend. If she STILL doesn't reply after awhile, ask her how she is on myspace and see if she replies. After this... ask her for her phone number. :-)
Reply:i hope not what you did sounds very nice, you say you have no contact details for her, then how do you know her parents address. that is a contact detail. do you have any mutual friends ask them for contact details.

Order people come down the aisle in the wedding?
I need the traditionsl order that people come down the aisle. Include: groom, bride, mother and father of groom, mother and father of bride, groomsmen, brides aids, flower girl, ring bearer.
Order people come down the aisle in the wedding?
1)The guests are seated.
2)The groom, best man and groomsmen enter by using a side door or if none enter church with other guests (no big entrance
3)An usher escorts the grandmother(s) of the bride to their seats.
4)An usher escorts the grandmother(s) of the groom to their seats.
5)An usher escorts the mother and father of the groom to their seats.
6)An usher escorts the mother of the bride to her seat.
7)Processional music begins.
8)The bride's motherstands first indicating to the guests to stand
9)The bridesmaids
10)The maid/matron of honor
11)The ring bearer
12)The flower girl or the flower girl and ring bearer walk down together.
13)The father of the bride escorts the bride down aisle.
The recession is same in reverse
Reply:There are a few options. Usually the groomsmen are already standing up at teh altar - they walk out with the groom before the processional begins. The groom's grandparents are the first down the aisle - followed by the bride's grandparents. The grandmothers can either be escorted by the grandfathers or by ushers with grandfathers following behind. Next come the parents are the groom - followed by the parents of the bride. Same applies - mothers can be escorted by their husbands (except the bride's mother) or by ushers with the fathers following behind. The bridesmaids are next in the lineup - they go one by one - with the maid furthest from the bride going first and the maid/matron of honor going last. The ring bearer(s) and flower girl(s) can go together - depending of their ages. Usually the flower girls are last so the petals are only walked on by the bride. However, a lot of churches do not actually allow petals to be put on the floors - so check with your church on those regulations.
Reply:We are doing groomsmen and groom already up there. Flower girls if you want them come down first with ring bearer.
Then comes the bridesmaids.... the maid of honor last out of them.
Then the bride and her father....
Mother normally sits up front.
Reply:The groom usually comes out with the pastor and his groomsmen at the front of the church. The mother of the groom, then the bride's mother are escorted by an usher or the ring bearer down the aisle, the ring bearer, flower girl, bridesmaids, maid of honor, then the bride and her father come down the aisle.
Reply:We are doing
1. Groom- up front
2. Groomsmen w/ bridemaids
3. Best Man w/ Matron of Honor
4.Flower girl w/ Jr. Bridesmaid
5. Bride %26amp; Father of Bride
Reply:the groom doesnt actually walk down the aisle...hes already at the altar....first it's the flower girl, then ring bearer...then the bridesmaids starting with the maid of honor and they are escorted by the groomsmen starting with the best man, then comes the bride with her father escorting her
the mother of the bride and the parents of the groom dont walk down the aisle either.....
Reply:the groom can escort both mothers to their seats and then stand up at the altar, the father of the groom is either already seated, or follows behind the groom and mothers.
then the bridesmaids are escorted by the groomsmen, followed by the best man and maid of honor, then ring bearer, flower girl , then bride with her father.
Alternatively, the groom and best man can be up at the altar with the priest before the sceremony begins. groomsmen can escort the parents and join you at the altar and then the bridesmaid come out alone one by one, followed by the ring bearer, flower girl and bride and dad.
Reply:The best man can seat the grandmothers and the groom seat the mothers as part of their entrances. (Groom grandmother, Bride grandmother, Groom mother, Bride Mother)
Or
Groomsmen may also enter by a side door with the groom, or
Groomsmen can escort the bridesmaids.
Bridesmaids
Ring bearer
Maid or Matron of Honor
Flower girl
The bride escorted by her father or other close male family member or friend.
Think of it like this. The grandmothers and mothers (and/or stepmothers) are honored guests at the affair and should appear that way. The groom's mother goes first because the Bride's mother is acting as a "hostess" to the event. This may only be a formality because so many couples pay for their own weddings.
The groom and groomsmen are waiting for the bride to make a grand appearance.
The bridesmaids come first because they were designed at an earlier time as a decoy for anyone that might be coming to the wedding to cause a problem. These beautifully dressed women were to make it difficult to distinguish who is the bride.
Then the ring bearer. He comes to the side of the groom and waits on the big entrance.
The flower girl(s) come next to line the path of the bride with petals. This is as if to symbolize that she isn't to touch the ground. That is why the flower girl is last. The honor of walking on the petals is reserved for the bride.
The key is, do the processional as you see fit. When I was married, my grandparents had passed away years before so there was a flower arrangement in their honor and a note of love to them in the program.
My husband has a stepmother so she was escorted as a mother down the aisle too to emphasize how important she is to our family.
Sorry for such a long answer. Be flexible and even creative if you have to. :) There are lots of bride-help websites that can help you with different ideas on every aspect of your wedding.
Good luck!
Reply:Most of the answers are correct, with just a few exceptions.
There are only a few hard and fast rules when it comes to processionals. The rest are made to be broken to fit your taste and your wedding party.
Here's the ones that matter:
1. The seating of the family is always this:
1st: grands of groom
2nd: grands of bride
3rd: stepmother of groom (if there is one)
4th: mother of groom
5th: mother of bride
2. The order of the b'maids is starting with the one who will stand farthest away from you, and ending with the maid and/or matron of honor.
3. The flower girls always come right before the bride.
Now, the other stuff: The groom and men do not have to already be standing there, nor do they have to come in a side door. I have lots of couples lately who want the groom to seat his mother and then take his place. Also, the groomsmen can walk down with the b'maids (in couples). This is fine too! I have even had the ushers stand at the altar since they were dressed up! Play around with things like this and see what suits you!

Here's the latest buzz! The anther to this question has a stigma attached to it, so I will try to be unpolitical about it ovule might get a pollination notice. We all know there is a seedy side to the plant world. (Hehe, there is a Morph-ia in my flower bed.)

Blooming britain online flowers how can they justify advertising? they do nothing that they promise!?
ordered a bouqet for a new baby, the comapny delivered it to milton keynes and not to chester two days late in appalling condition, they will not return my calls or e-mails. I returned the flowers to them. How can such companies exist when their standards are so low?
Blooming britain online flowers how can they justify advertising? they do nothing that they promise!?
Contact trading standards in your area. They will sort this out for you.
I have used several online such as jersey flowers and never had a problem. However, the best way I have found is contact talking pages and ask for a florist in the area you want to send the flowers to.
You then make your own choice of florist and phone your choice. This I method I have found to be more personal and I derive far more pleasure doing it this way. You can actually tell the florist what you want and it can work out to far cheaper than having a set bouquet..
I hope you have this matter resolved to your satisfaction and that the baby is not a year old before it is.

How can i start a fresh flower kiosk in the mall?
i'd like to sell fresh flowers at a kiosk cart in the mall. how can i keep flowers fresh, how much do i order. what kind of set up would i need?
How can i start a fresh flower kiosk in the mall?
Unless you know the flower business well, you could end up losing a lot of money.
I'd suggest trying to get a job first for awhile for an established flower wholesaler and learning all you can about flowers and suppliers.

Do I need to pluck off the tops of my sweet peas to improve their growth?
My mum told me that I need to pinch of the tips of my sweet pea plants in order to improve their flowering later. Is this right? If so, how much do I pluck off? thanks!
Do I need to pluck off the tops of my sweet peas to improve their growth?
As mentioned, plucking off the tip help the plant to make more side shoots (branches out) and thus one plant will cover a larger section of fence. To keep the plant flowering as long as possible, even up to the first frost, you have to keep snipping off flowers for the vase, and all bits of flowers that have finished flowering. If you let the flowered bits become seeds, then the plant will not last the whole summer. The whole idea of a plant flowering, is so that the plant can make seeds to reproduce itself. If you keep on removing the seeds then the plant will continuously make new flowers for its reproduction. If you want to keep a few seed for next year´s so wings, it´s wise to tie a bit of wool around the stem of a special colour to remind yourself not to cut it off.
Reply:Yes. And pick the flowers when they come to encourage lots more to grow.
Reply:Yes to encourage flowers pluck of the top leader
Reply:plucking and pinching are two different things ... to get more flowers you need to "pinch" out the growing tips ... after you have got 3 true pairs of leaves pinch out the growing tip ... then once they start flowering you need to pick the flowers daily ... so the plants don't stop producing flowers
Reply:Some clever varieties are naturally dwarf and bushy, pinching out is not required. With the standard tall growing Spencer varieties you can nip out the growing tips at 2 full leaves.
Reply:If you pluck to the tops, you will encourage the side growth, this will delay the full top growth It will not affect the timing of flowering, which will be more since the side growth will have more buds. this is usually done on mums to have more flowers. It is call heading.
Reply:No need as that just makes them bushier. What you need to do is to remove all the flowers as they die. Once they set seed then they will stop flowering if the seed pods are allowed to develop.
Reply:If you remove the growing tips at the top of a plant it causes it to bush out so once you've established a good height spread you could do this to give more horizontal growth and hopefully lots more flowers :)

I want to read the whole "Flowers in the Attic" series again. With which one do I begin?
Do you know the order of all of them?
I want to read the whole "Flowers in the Attic" series again. With which one do I begin?
I believe Flowers in the Attic is the first.
Reply:It is Flowers in the Attic, but one was published much later as a prequel to Flowers. I'd still read it first though.
Reply:You want to read them all again? Once you've read one you've basically read them all. There is always a girl described in great physical detail who has sex with someone related to her. There is nearly always a baby born of this union and complicated family dynamics. That's pretty much it. I read a bunch of them when I was around 12 yrs old and laid up in bed with the flu but I've never forgotten those books. If you're into incest, you could start reading Anais Nin instead. She's a much better writer.
Reply:oh, waht a great series. Flowers in the attic was the first one folllowed by: Petals on the Wind . If There Be Thorns . Seeds of Yesterday . Garden of Shadows

Has anyone ever had a bad experience with FTD?
I ordered flowers a week before the 14th and they guarenteed they would be there by the 14th now the flowers won't be there until the 16th. The worst part is I can't talk to a person because their costomer servce line keeps hanging up on me due to high call volume. Don't ever use FTD.
Has anyone ever had a bad experience with FTD?
I've had the same problem. I ordered mine on the 12th and they never showed up, even though the "check status" on the website says they were delivered.
I can't get through their customer service line, and my email has not been answered.
I'm wondering if they had some sort of computer malfunction that affected their ordering system?
I am definitely boycotting FTD!
Reply:yes
Reply:Yep, same problem. There were a bunch of DELIVERED 1800flowers boxes at my work. Guess who I'm using next time?

Flowers for my wedding in Seattle area?
I'm getting married in May; the wedding will be in the Seattle area and I live in Montana. I have had good luck finding everything I need on the internet, except the flowers (there is just too much to sort through and I can't find what I want). I want to order tulips and sweat peas in bulk and have them arranged by my family. Does anyone know of a good place, or a good website where I can find what I want? Thanks!
Flowers for my wedding in Seattle area?
I suggest visiting online website such as
http://www.weddinglenox.com ,weddingvendors.com ,onewed.com
Unlike most yellow pages, they have detailed comparison for vendors (DJ,videographer, florist, and photographer) you can choose.
One problem I had with my wedding is that it is hard to locate vendors in most website as most likely they group by states and there are too many of them that are too far from me and I have to look at each site to figure out.
I like weddinglenox as they have an easy to use layout to show you pictures, pricing and location in one page, plus you can send out your inquiry for matching vendor to contact you. That saves me lots of time to locate the best vendors with the right price.

How does a wedding procession go?
what order, bridesmaids, flower girls, who walks the mothers down?
How does a wedding procession go?
First in the procession are the bridesmaids accompanied by the groomsmen (whole bridal party w/ maid of honor/ best man last) Next the flower girls/ ring bearer. Lastly, the bride with her companion, usually dad or another male of high esteem to the bride. Very lastly, the tears.
The groom is waiting on the alter. The mothers are usually "ushered" in w/ older siblings or people you have selected to usher. You could also ask your priest/ vicar.
Reply:From Emily Post's Etiquette,pp.780-81:
"The procession is arranged according to height with the two shortest ushers leading.Junior ushers walk behind the adults. Junior bridesmaids come nest,if there are any.If not,the bridesmaids come directly after the ushers, two and two, also according to height, with the shortest in the lead.If there are only two or three, they walk singly. After the bridesmaids, the maid or matron of honor walks alone;flower girls follow, then the ring bearer, and last of all the bride on the right arm of her father. If there are both maid and matron of honor, the maid of honor immediately precedes the bride. If there is only one flower girl and ring bearer, they may walk together instead of seperately.
Before the ceremony begins, about 5 to 10 minutes before the processional, the head usher offers his right arm to the mother of the groom, the father following behind, and they are escorted to their seats. The groom's parents can also walk in together and follow the usher to their places. The head usher or a brother or cousin of the bride walks the mother of the bride to the first pew on the left.(p779)
At the appointed hour, the procession forms (in the vestibule if it's a church wedding, otherwise at the appointed place),and a signal is given to the groom and the officiating minister/clergyperson that the ceremony is about to begin.
The sound of the processional mucis is the cue for the minister or priest to take her/his place, followed by the groom and bestman.Ushers then take their places. The bride's procession then enters.
Reply:Well for the groomsmen, they can either A walk in with the groom (following him down the aisle or through a side door), or B walk down the aisle with the bridesmaids. Maid/Matron of honor is last. Then comes the ring bearer. Then the flower girl(s). Then the bride.
Mothers of the bride and groom go down before the bridesmaids enter. The groom's mother and father first, then the bride's mother. Grandparents come before the parents. Usually the women have an usher. Sometimes the husband can be the usher. That's a personal choice. So it would look somethin like this:
Groom
Groomsmen
Grandparents of Groom
Grandparents of Bride
Father and Mother of the Groom
Mother of the Bride
Bridesmaids
Maid/Matron of Honor
Ring Bearer

All life and cosmos has order, only a supreme intelligence?
with a blue print can create this miracle,,
Two different genders, male female, why not three or four,,
the human brain is the most complex wonderful computer ever

Balance is the order of the universe creation and destruction, love hate ,joy despair without balance we are just lost souls floating round the universe going through cycles of life and death with no purpose justa cosmic accident ., I'm with u . Reply:Is that you with your craziness Spiky? Read Darwins Theory of Evolution. You have a bias to fit your beliefs, there is no 'evidence' which is why all religion requires blind faith.
Reply:No it is only evidence of a powerful selection mechanism. Local complexity is the result of selection from variance.
If your argument was correct, the fact that snowflakes only fall in snowstorms would be evidence of snow pixies.
The fact we see order does not imply it is purposeful. This is a fallacy. Does the fact a hole fits a puddle perfectly imply that the hole was designed to fit the puddle? Of course not, yet that is what creationists would have you believe. They argue the hole fits the puddle too perfectly not to be designed for it. When in reality the puddle fits the hole not the other way around. It is simply man's arrogance that makes him think the universe was designed with him in mind.
Reply:What are you smoking over there???
Why only male and female and not three or four sexes? Because that would be unnecessary.
If the cosmos have a blue print, perhaps you can explain why meteors slam into planets and cause much destruction, or perhaps you can explain why a black hole would swallow up an entire galaxy, destroying it completely. Is that by design as well? There is a type of wasp that preys on tarantulas, stinging it and paralysing it so that it can plant an egg inside it - when the egg hatches, the baby wasp eats it way out of the LIVE spider. Your God create that monster wasp too?
Reply:You seem to think the universe is limited by what you are capable of imagining. You can easily imagine a man floating up to heaven on a cloud, but you cannot imagine a brain thinking. This is why you are a Christian rather than a fully-rounded human being.
Reply:Argument from Incredulity.
It is a logical fallacy for a reason.
Reply:The universe is complex and wonderful enough without introducing the supernatural. If there is a designer the chances that it is one of the religious deities is pretty slim.
With the billions of billions of suns in our universe, the chances of life arising somewhere by chance is pretty high so the need of a designer lessens.
Reply:Sorry but you are talking nonsense. Because you don't understand something does not mean someone or something designed it. It just means you don't understand it.
Reply:As an agnostic deist, I agree. There is an intelligent designer at work.
Evolution is also evidence of intelligent design, in my opinion.
There is no proof for the existence of this designer but there is no proof that there is not one either.
What I wonder is, why does anyone care if another person does not believe in a God? Why does it matter to you?
Please keep idiotic religious bull$hit out of it.
Reply:No, it's not. You're simply stating that I don't get it, thefore it was designed intelligently. You should watch this video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVRsWAjvQ...
Reply:This is ridiculous, because you are comfortable with having a god, you brain rationalizes things that way, things are the way they are because of millions of years of evolution, and necessity, and and what order is there in anything. There is war, rape, murder, in the universe there is very little order, it is ever expanding, full of chaos, comets crashing into things, stars being created and destroyed, there is scientific proof of evolution, not all the way from ape like to human, but most of the way, and they have proved animals evolving from other animals...
Reply:If its evidence of a god... then heck... you can make it evidence of just about anything.
According to a book I found under my bed (and my personal convictions)... the order of the world came from a giant eagle, who made the universe, which sits atop a turtle.
Reply:This is sound logical thought and the beginning of wisdom.

ANSWER THIS ONE! Would it matter to you if your florist used environmentally friendly vehicles for deliveries?
I am doing this survey for a class for a class so I need to collect as many responses as possible. So....if you are ordering flowers for delivery, would it matter to you whether the florist's vehicles were environmentally friendly (Hybrid) or not? And why?
ANSWER THIS ONE! Would it matter to you if your florist used environmentally friendly vehicles for deliveries?
It really would not bother me but if they did drive a "Friendly" car it would show some respect for what they love and do..
Reply:Yes it mostly matters, but I do not think about that when I am ordering flowers..

How do I change a picture saved on a web page into just the picture part for flower identification?
I'm trying to ID several Iris tubers with pictures from the Historic Iris Website. I have copied the photos but get a whole web page and all I need is the photo (for when mine bloom this year to compare to see which historic iris mine is) With the whole page I have to develop the whole page in order to see the flower, so cannot compare them.
How do I change a picture saved on a web page into just the picture part for flower identification?
Right-Click the picture, and select 'Save As...' or 'Save Picture as...'.
Reply:If the whole webpage is one giant picture, you may have to crop it out. Try a free image editing program such as The Gimp. http://www.gimp.org

Why would one use FTD,TELEFORA OR 800FLOWERS TO SEND FLOWERS?
my florist just told me that when I use these companies to send my mom flowers, the florist who gets the order only gets 80 percent of the money I paid and the "wire service"keeps 20 percent or more,
and in most cases knocks my order down to a smaller version of what In ordered!! they have never told me this was being done.
She also told me to find a florist in my moms zip code and call them direct to get exactly what I paid for . huh ,well now I know better.Just don't understand why these companies never told me these things. just wondering if you guys knew this?
Why would one use FTD,TELEFORA OR 800FLOWERS TO SEND FLOWERS?
I suggest using the yellow pages for that area and calling a local florist. They are just as nice flowers and usually a lot less expensive. I did this for a funeral out of state and just told them the amount I wanted to spend. They took care of the rest. I attended the funeral and the flowers were better than expected. More for your money!!
Reply:if the person who you are sending the flowers to lives far away, these flower services are useful
Reply:They have to get paid for the convenienve they are providing. Also, when we had a problem on a recent order it was no problem to resend or refund. It was my choice with no pressure on resending.
Reply:I learned not to do it here on Yahoo! Answers some time ago. I guess that's what this is for.
Reply:They wouldn't be in business if everyone knew that.
They are just a convenience so you don't have to go searching for a florist in a far away city/state.
The key is like anything you purchae; sale items or items they have a clearance on.......that's when you get your money's worth.
Reply:I have found this out myself. You need a credit card or an account set up with order with your local florist, or drive there at the high cost of gasoline. Some prefer the easy way. I drive to my local florist and ask them to send it. But, sometimes they go through one of those services anyway.
Reply:yeah. they suck. call the florist in the local area. get a mom and pop not a big suckah!!!
Reply:Well of course the wire service needs to get paid.
The local florist is cheating on the agreement with the service by downsizing the order though. You should report them.
Obviously, getting orders from all over the country is worthwhile, so the local shops pay for the national exposure by agreeing to let the services take a portion of the fees. They aren't supposed to keep their same profit margin. Its the local shop cheating, not the national service.
Reply:They often have great coupons online, plus you don't have to track down a florist who you don't know (especially if your sending to someone out of state). They also guarantee their products. Anytime I've stated I wasn't satisfied, I've gotten a complete credit.
Reply:I wouldn't recommend FTD or Teleflora, but a long time ago 1-800-Flowers pioneered something called "Fresh From Our Growers", which lets you get flowers shipped directly from the people who grow the flowers (usually from South America or Europe). In other words, your flowers cost less and last longer because they don't spend a week or more dying in a florist's refrigerator. They're shipped via air in refrigerated containers from the source, and forwarded directly to you.
I would recommend a florist when you need the flowers professionally arranged, but for family members who like to arrange their flowers themselves, I've had great success with 1-800-Flowers fresh flowers.
Reply:Lack of information and the ease of using them.
Reply:well they are doing the research and finding the florist - the florists have contracts with them and agree on a lowered price amount for the flowers for referral through the 1-800 system. it is a referral fee. they are NOT permitted to substitute a smaller order then the one you buy - that is against the BBB and you can complain if you pay for a large flower and she gets a smaller one - it may be slightly different from the picture depending on what flowers are in season in the area where your mother lives and so forth.
the best way is to use yahoo yellow pages and look up a florist near you mother call them - you will not however be able to see a picutre of the size you are getting - you can though call around to a few in her area to get the best deal this way.
Reply:If your far away from your man or women, its easy to call a FTD and send flowers its convient.

Should I send a girl who I have gotten acquainted with online flowers?
I met a girl online. I have been sending emails back and forth with her almost everyday for about two months. I think she is a great person and I would like to show how much I appreciate her. In a proper (non-internet) relationship guys would sometimes give a girl something like flowers. I would love to do that by sending some to her online, but I am concerned that she might not like it. Because in order to have them sent out I would need to ask for an address of some kind. Is asking something like this acceptable even if I were to ask for a work address? I do not want to mess anything up - what is the best thing to do?
Should I send a girl who I have gotten acquainted with online flowers?
send her an ecard w/ flowers on it. she may not be ready to give you an address and if you have her email you can still send her something that lets her know you appreciate her friendship.
Reply:I think it is a great idea! Instead, why don't you send her an ecard? That way you can avoid the awkwardness of asking for an address. Just do a search for ecard and you will find a bunch of sites. Good Luck!!!

Can lilies flower more than once a season?
Is it required to prune back the plant in order for them to flower a second time during the season?
Can lilies flower more than once a season?
no... they will never flower more then once in a single season! after the flowers fade snip off the bud that the flowers was on or the plant will put it's energy into making seeds which will take forever to grow and bloom.
Reply:Lilies, by thier nature, bloom only once a season. The trick here is to plant lilies of different varieties and blooming times to give an illusion that they are 'everblooming'.

Are birds and flowers the work of the devil?
in curtain religious cultures the wearing of brightly coloured clothing is considered to be vulgar and highly offensive
and anything beautifull needs to be covered up by a black cloth in order not to offend God.
considering the fact that flowers are effectively alluring sex organs and birds like the peacock have such a colourful sexual display, who could God be the author of such filth???
Are birds and flowers the work of the devil?
People who cannot enjoy God's creations and get offended by bright colors...need to get their heads examined. Sounds like that Japanese cult who believe that the world is a big microwave and covered everything around their HQ with white cloths to deflect the evil sun rays...

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
God(Jesus) made everything. Birds and flowers and the devil. All was made prefect in the beginning and all fell because of sin. The wearing bright colors things is a remnant of the old church practices that are not biblical. However the bible does teach us not to dress offensively or act offensively.

Is there ANYWHERE I can buy (cheap) just a few flowers so I can arrange them myself?
I usually arrange about 15 medium vases and 5 large vases per week. I want the wholesale price, because I'll be a regular customer, without the huge quantity. I'm a one-lady charity service (I give the flowers away to sick %26amp; forgotten). I live in Dallas, though I'd love to order over the internet...I order my supplies that way...
Is there ANYWHERE I can buy (cheap) just a few flowers so I can arrange them myself?
You could speak with the florist near you and ask if you can piggy-back on his order. Once you explain what you are doing, I'm sure you can make arrangements.
I doubt there are any internet suppliers for small orders. See the searchlist below for your local wholesale dealers. Choose the one that is best for you.

OKay, never planted these gorgeous flowers b4.

Will prob order more.
Is JUNE okay for planting them? early june?
thx
Questions about Dahliah flowers%26amp;DAHLIA bulbs PLEASE :o) ??
as far as digging them up, only if you are north of the mason dixon line. Down in GA we only cut them back and cover with mulch. for # of flowers, spacing etc, they should have instructions on the packaging. Most of them have multiple flowers per stalk. They seem to bloom better a few years after the initial planting. Good luck. They do attract pincher bugs. be careful to shake them out before bringing indoors to enjoy. Happy gardening!!!
Reply:the mail order will only send plants the correct time in which they are to be planted. so if u had order 10 different plants, all ten would not be coming the same time..
The size of the flower is usually dependent upon the size of the bulb, but bear in mind, that u do have to take them out of the soil in the fall and airdry them.
u should allow about 6 inches between plants. Yes, they are geourgeous flowers and I too like them.

The size of the flower is usually dependent upon the size of the bulb, but bear in mind, that u do have to take them out of the soil in the fall and airdry them.
u should allow about 6 inches between plants. Yes, they are geourgeous flowers and I too like them.

Do you tip someone who delivers you flowers?
I was reading an article on tipping and it said to tip a floral delivery person a few dollars. I've never done that. I might not have any cash on hand. Since it's an unexpected delivery and I wasn't the one who ordered them, why would I be expected to tip?
Do you tip someone who delivers you flowers?
I've never heard of tipping a flower delivery person, and I've worked in florist shops before, too.
I also work for a pizza chain, and you DO tip them.
But flowers? Generally NO.
Usually when flowers are delivered, they are delivered as a GIFT to the recipient from someone else. RARELY are flowers DELIVERED to the person who ORDERED them. As such, any "tip" is the onus of the PURCHASER, not the RECIPIENT. How would YOU like to get a gift and then have the person who GAVE you the gift expect a TIP for giving it to you? Same reasoning.
With Pizza delivery people, the people who are receiving the pizzas are generally the ones who ORDERED them, and thus, the tip is on the ORERERS.
Let's switch things around a bit.... A dear friend of yours calls the local Pizza place and says, "My friend, Mary is really SICK today, and I'd like to have a PIZZA delivered to her so she doesn't have to COOK tonight." So, she orders the pizza, gives the delivery instructions, and gives her credit card info to pay for it. Now... do you REALLY think that YOU (being "Mary") should tip the pizza delivery person when YOU didn't ORDER the pizza? It should be your dear friend who, on the phone giving the delivery/payment information that says, "Oh, and please add a $2 tip for the driver when you charge my card!"... RIGHT???
So... generally speaking, flower delivery people are not tipped for this reason.
Have a polite day.
Reply:Yes. You HAVE to tip the florist delivery man. I'm a teen and worked in a florist for 2 years and got paid $5 per hour. We walk to deliver (30 minutes at times) and I really get upset when people don't even tip. You should tip at least a dollar at least. Report It

Reply:depending on the deliverer of the flowers, i usually tip pizza deliver boys who are friendly, always say enjoy your dinner and apologizes even though he;s on time...
and depend on how clean they look, nails and hair, must be free of grase and dirt!
Reply:No, there was a delivey fee added to the bill of the person who sent them.
Reply:If you feel funny give them a buck, if not no worries, unless you get flowers everyday.
Reply:Most places include the tip with the price. So Unless you live in the middle of no where, don't tip.
Reply:You don't need to tip to a flower delivery person, because his/her wage is included in the delivery fee, which is already paid by the person who ordered it. Food delivery guys are different, because their wages depend on the tips, just like waiters/waitresses.
With that said, if you received a flower during a snow storm and the delivery person looked like half-frozen, any tip would be greatly appreciated. :-)
Reply:Naah. ya probly paid them enuf.
Reply:cause it is the right thing to do. only tip 1 dollar or something. it doesn't have to be a lot.
Reply:No. I wouldnt. Chances are they probably charge a ton for the flowers anyway.

What style checks should I order next?
Here are my choices. Exotic animals, Statue of Liberty, Lighthouses, Flowers, Snoopy, Superman, Elmo, Dinosaurs, Motorbikes, Plain, Sunsets, Mickey Mouse, Penguins, National Parks, Natural Inspirations, and The Chronicles of Narnia.
What style checks should I order next?
I've always been partial to National Parks, but you pick the ones that fit your personality, maybe Flowers. Ha Ha!!
Reply:It is a personal choice, what ever strikes you as looking good
Myself, I would go with Sunsets or National Parks, the
cartoon ones make you look a bit immature (but then I don't
know your age)
Reply:well since I do not know your gender I don't know how to answer, just go w/ what you like the most
Reply:Plain. It's a check, you write it and give it to someone else, or mail it. You won't be sitting there looking at it.
Reply:Perhaps (just perhaps) you should pick one that reflects your style or appreciation.
Reply:Plain they are cheaper, or get yourself a program for check making its awesome and cost about 10.00 to 20.00 for the program, check at office depot.

Flowers that look like glass?
hi! i need the translation of RESIFLOR in order to search more infos on web (not only on italian sites)
here, in italy, i've found a resin that allows me to create objects that look like glass (just putting a ring of thin wire in it). I'm not able to explain! so.. click this link:
http://creativa.altervista.org/resina/fi...
http://creativa.altervista.org/resina/re...
resin's name is RESIFLOR or RESINA FILANTE, so if someone recognizes the product, please tell me how do you call it!
thanks
[oh, i'm sorry for my english!!!]
Flowers that look like glass?
For me, at least, both of your links came up blank. However, I think I might know what you're talking about.
Back in the late 60s/early 70s, there was a product you could use to create flowers and other things. It was a resin, and you would make a loop of fine wire in the shape you wanted, dip it in, and it would "fill in" the shape with a clear plastic film/layer, depending on thickness, the same way soap mixture "fills" a bubble-blower, through surface tension.
"Resiflor" doesn't have a translation, though - it's just a combination of "resin" and "flower", and is probably a brand name or trade name. I hadn't thought about it in a LONG time; I have a distinct recollection of making a flower shaped a bit like an iris, but with a deep turquoise material. Once the parts were made, you wired them together, shaped them as you wished (the pieces were thin enough to be flexible), and bound the wires with florists tape. I had a lot of fun with it :-)
Edit: The only sites I've found for it are Italian ones; I'd presume it's a product of Italy. I found a site that sells it, but not a lot else.

How come FTD can't deliver a simple set of flowers?
I've tried for four days to get simple set of roses delivered. Each time they came up with a bumbling excuse like "we didn't know you wanted us to deliver today" (it was written on the instructions) Today after talking to a supervisor I learned the truth. They didn't have any roses in the area and was sitting on the order until they could make a profit. Hve any of you had these problems. Made my girlfriend cry.
How come FTD can't deliver a simple set of flowers?
Oh my gosh - that just happened to me - my friend apparently sent me roses FOR valentines day - i didn't get them till a day and a half later - i tried to call, they said there was an HOUR wait-time for customer service - in the mean-time i wrote an e-mail.
had the whole thing ready to go, so i hung up the phone - they wouldn't except my e-mail(saying it was the wrong order #) B.S.!
Plus, the flowers were really crappy, limp and dying - i mean they never opened and i could tell when i got them that they wouldn't! - I had to fib to my friend so he wouldn't be hurt (i will tell him eventually) - I'm in the process of "writing" them on "pen and paper" - - thank you SO much for this - I hope you don't mind if I use this as ANOTHER example!????
Reply:Use Proflowers....it is cheaper and better!

Do flowers typically have an even or odd number of petals?
I need to know the answer in order to decide whether I should start with "she loves me" or "she loves me not"
Do flowers typically have an even or odd number of petals?
NeoArt was close to being correct. Numbers *do* vary. Monocots have flowers in 3s (but the sepals can look like petals in some of them so they appear to have 6 petals. Dicots generally have 5s but there are quite a few with only 4 (mustard family for one). There are a scattering of other families with irregular numbers, but they are small and uncommon families. However, for playing "she loves me ... she loves me not" the usual plant group to use are the daisies. Daisy "flowers" are really collections of small flowers (called 'florets' -- individual flowers are quite easy to see ... check out a sunflower when you see one next) and many daisy groups have what are called "ligulate florets" that have what looks like one big petal that sticks out the side of the flower head. It is these "ligules" that you pull out in "she loves me ... she loves me not". The number is not regular and will vary from species to species ... that is what gives the game the element of uncertainty.
Reply:mostly odd and it never works
have you tried it
Reply:depends on the flower, count them ,and then walk over to the girl ,and try it a couple of times to see what it does
Reply:Both are possible but please don't waste the flower petal for your silly love query!
Reply:Start with "She loves me", cause you're in luck. Flowers grow with striking coherence to the Fibonacci sequence, two-thirds of which are odd numbers.
Reply:actually both
take a pentamereous flower(5 petals) andstart with she loves me
Reply:it depends on the species of the flower, although most plants follor the golden ratio, as seen in the fibonaccii sequence and arrangement of the nautalus or sunflower seeds. Mainly, you will find that they are odd numbers though.
Reply:There are two basic kinds of flowering plants out there: the monocots (like corn) and the dicots (like roses).
The monocots (single part seeds) are mostly grasses and have flowers that are based on threes and multiples of threes. So sometimes you get sixes.
The dicots (two part seeds) are the roses, cherries, beans. They generally have five petals. Of course we have messed with that and made multiples of that, too. So you can have 5,10,15, etc.
So, while this is a simple question. I don't think there is a simple answer. Still, if you now look at a flower and notice if it is a multiple of 3, you can tell it is a monocot; or if it is a multiple of 5, it is a dicot.

This is definitely in your textbook or notes. I'll give you a hint, though: vertebrates came before fish, which came before humans.
EDIT: People, I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with the creation story in the Bible. Perhaps the question could have been worded: "According to modern scientific thinking, evolutionary bio, and paleontology, what is the order in which...." It wasn't worded that way, but the point remains that that was probably the intent of the question.

IS there any way to file a restraining order against someone out of state?
I am dealing with a man who calls me about 22 times a day, and said," I will get what is coming to me". WE met online in a dating forum... talked for a month, and he got my address, sent flowers... so now i am scared, since i told him to stop...
IS there any way to file a restraining order against someone out of state?
Yes you should be able to get a restraining order against him. Any threats you've recieved off him keep and write it all down then take it in to your police station.
Reply:Keep all the evidence you can, then go to the police. They will help you. They helped me.Good luck Hon.
Reply:Don't answer your calls. Does he know what you look like? If not, if he shows up to your door looking for you, tell him that the person he is looking for isn't there. Don't give him anymore information. If he comes back again, call the authorities.
Reply:No more online hookups from now on. Technically he hasn't come near you. Now its just a matter of harassment. A restraining order is to keep someone an ordered amount of distance away from you.
How did he get your address? Better yet, why did you give it to him?
Reply:that's why you dont give your personal info to a stranger. you should talk to a police officer. BUT tell them the whole story, dont leave out anything that might make you look bad... it will make you look worse.

Prom Dress/Flowers?
My younger cousin asked me to order his prom flowers for him today. I said sure, what color is her dress and his answer was dark brown with sparkles. I said sequence and he said ya thats it. OK so now the question. What color flowers would I possible order to go with a brown dress? Dipped, all white, ughh I have no idea.
P.S.
Just so you all know the reason his mother isnt doing it is because she walked out several years ago.
Prom Dress/Flowers?
stay away from yellow or white .. try a softer shade like .. emm .. pink seems to go well with dark brown or orangy red ..

Am I wrong for not wanting to pitch in for a coworkers flowers?
Today she had gastric bypass surgery and she came through fine. I'm happy for her. Now the office wants everyone to pitch in so they can send her a gift basket of flowers, a book and a few magazines and I don't want to. It's not that I don't like her, but I feel like they're congratulating her for being lazy. Prior to this surgery she was supposed to be on a diet for 6 months. Her doctor gave her 2 months free and for the other 4 she never ate right(ordering chinese, fried chicken, bagels), never worked out. She didn't try at all, then complained when she gained 2-3lbs every month she weighed in. I realize it's the gesture the office is going for, but it bothers me. Am I just being rude or do I have a point?
Am I wrong for not wanting to pitch in for a coworkers flowers?
It is enough to just say," I'm happy your surgery went well. " Now if she has any thought herself why she is at this point she should understand that it was she who placed herself in this situation - from what you have said. I do agree with you on not having to reward someone who set themselves up to their own outcomes of certain situations such as hers. If we acknowledge everyone for this, then we will go broke ourselves in donating to everyone in the office. I believe we offer a donation only if we want to, not just because we are asked to..As for myself, I can not contribute to every whim in the office for I have family life obligations I must take care of...oh wait if your office personel looks at you in anyway for not donating, than heres a situation you can bring up for them to donate to your cause. " I lost my earnings at bingo(lol) so now I can't pay for my rent/pge, I need you to donate to me now" hmmmmmmm do ya think they would???
Reply:Gee, we must work together cause I got one of these lazy, fat , loud mouths working with me ... She actually didn't meet the BMI qualifications the first time to be considered for her surgery. So she pigged out for 5 months to gain enough for a different clinic. We heard EVERY detail and still hear every detail of her life with surgery. So be prepared when she gets back to work . She will probably be going on and on about what she can and cannot eat and what happens if she does. Also be prepared to "celebrate" all of her weight loss milestones ... It can get really sickening after a while.
Oh and about your question .... I would have gave to the flower fund. You will probably get labeled as "jealous" now. My coworker actually accuses people of NOT knowing how to deal with her as a thin person now. Be prepared!
Reply:Do what you think is right...don't be a hypocrite. But be ready to accept that the message you are sending to your co-workers is that you are insensitive and shallow.
Reply:I agree with you about Gastric Bypass surgery being a poor excuse - but surgery is still surgery. Oh, and when her surgery opens up all kinds of complications because she didn't follow the rules - keep quiet about it.
Put your principles away for a bit and pony up. Yes, it's a reward for her not sticking to the rules in the first place. But, let's put it this way - it's a bit of an insurance policy that when you're out sick, someone will take up a collection for YOU.
And I would bet it's less than $15 out of your pocket.
Believe me - she's going to suffer more for this than you ever will.
Reply:I HATE being solicited for group gifts, so I feel your pain here.
Go with your heart.
If she were a good friend, I'd say chip in a little and congratulate her on taking a step toward good health. Not everyone can get control of their eating habits. It may not be a matter of laziness -- she could be depressed or having hormonal imbalances, for example.
But it sounds like you're not very close to this person and you don't have a lot of respect for her. I'd tell your co-workers (should they be rudely pushy enough to ask you to open your wallet): "thanks for assembling the group gift, but I'm going to send her something on my own." Then send her a note saying you hope her recovery goes well, and you look forward to seeing her soon at work. There is nothing remotely rude about sending sincere wishes for a speedy recovery without a gift.
Reply:yes your rude--regardless of the circumstances--if you were in the hospital they would do the same for you--do unto others
Reply:if u feel that way then dont announce that opinion to others. just tell them ur broke. u dont want that to get back to her and hurt her feelings.
Reply:Because you've also struggled with your weight, I can see why her situation bugs you. You've learned to be very disciplined, and she opted for surgery. I doubt people sent you flowers when you lost weight the old-fashioned way.
That said, gastric bypass is major surgery, and it's life altering. If you don't want to chip in on the flowers, don't. You're not obligated to do that. But you might send her a card wishing her the best, and maybe share one of your favorite healthy recipes.
Reply:It's your business if you want to pitch in for ANYTHING at work, no one else's.
Although you shouldn't let anyone make you feel guilty for not wanting to pitch in, you shouldn't go around saying why. It's best to just make an acceptable excuse as to why, rather than to hurt anyone's feelings.
Reply:You have a point. But there has got to be a better way to help her learn about this problem than to just not chip in on some flowers. Before most people will listen they have to first know that you genuinely care.
Reply:I see your point in that you've witnessed a co-worker shove all kinds of bad food down her throat without any regard to the consequences. That would probably annoy me, too.
But a gastric bypass is, in many ways, not the easy way out that many people think it is. It is for people who do not have the self-control or discipline or the means to end their addiction to food and need to control this addiction is through pretty radical surgery.
It is a surgery with risks and complications and changes how, when, and how much food they can have - for the rest of their life. It may sound like an easy fix, but it is a difficult adjustment reconciling what's going on physically (your stomach is too small to eat food) and mentally (your mind is saying FEED ME I WANT FRENCH FRIES).
It sounds like she's had a bit of a medical intervention, and for her to say "yep, I can't control what I put in my mouth and I'm willing to do this surgery" (and she's going to have to exercise, too, if she's got a good doctor overseeing her treatment), I give her credit and you might want to throw a buck or two into the kitty to get her some flowers.
Reply:I understand your situation, it's called resentment. I would feel that way too, if I saw her behaviour about her health, and most especially if her work was delegated to me the whole time she was in the hospital. But the thing is, your co-workers are just being polite and supportive to her. After all she is the one in the hospital bed now, had some of her internal organs removed and/or replaced, and possibly aching in one or two places. You are better off health-wise so in a way this is how you "feel sorry" for the lady for having to go through this inconvenience in her life. You may have a point, but you are at a better position than she is, so show her some love. =)
Reply:No, you are not rude. You just don't see the point in pitching in, I probably wouldn't either. If she were ill, that would be different. Gastric By Pass is an elective surgery. Would you buy her flowers and gifts if she had a face lift? Let them give her their gifts, it's their right just as it's your right not to pitch in.
Reply:You sound hateful - give a couple bucks and shut up about it already... Why does it matter to you so much how this coworker lives her life?
Reply:Before I read the details, I thought it would be about the forced shake-down of employees, but now I see it's different.
You, of course, have lived an exemplary life, have never done anything wrong or unwise, and would be thrilled to know that everyone around you constantly judges everything you do in the harshest possible life.
Try to have a little humanity.
Her flaw isn't yours.
But it's possible she has straights compared to you that compensate.
She may be a compassionate and understanding human being who takes people, flaws and all, as she finds them, and doesn't running around condemning others for not living up to HER standards.
Lazy?
You clearly have NO CLUE as to what you're talking about.
Ignorance does tend to breed hate.
It's not about laziness.
They are not paying or rewarding her for laziness.
I understand where you're coming from; it's an extreme measure for something that SEEMS to be in the person's control.
As I say, I bet there are all sorts of less than perfect things about you.
We all have less than perfect things.
Maybe if you grow up a bit, and grow a heart, you won't be so harsh toward others, whose problems are just different than yours.
Reply:OK ...you do not want to chip in for her flowers , book and whatever else for her. Then don't.Just tell people that you are going to do something on your own ...get her a cheerful get well card and write her a note hoping she feels well soon and you are done.No body should make you feel guilty because these are your true feelings. But you certainly can send a nice card.
Reply:I don't think you should pitch in for flowers if you don't feel like it. Just make sure they don't include your name on the card. And no one should make you feel bad or guilty for not pitching in!
Reply:You have a point that you don't think she deserves to be contratulated that she had to do the last resort surgery. However, sometimes we have to just keep peace in an office. Smile and chip in whatever amount they want. I have a friend that went through that surgery and lost 175 pounds. She said you can't imagine the people that tell her she did it the EASY way! Far from it. She can never eat white bread again and lot of other things. She can only eat one half cup of food at a meal. That is it and that is forever. She is just not entering the hard part. Be nice and supportive and thank God that you are an average weight and didn't have to fight this demon.
Reply:If it bothers you SO much, then don't do it. But what I'd do is contribute just the same, I mean to avoid problems, to have to give explanations to other co workers, etc. You'll be saving yourself from trouble.
Reply:It sounds like you were watching her actions far too closely.

In what order should my wedding party walk down the aisle?
I have:
me (bride), groom, 2 groomsmen, 2 bridesmaid, flower girl, ring bearer and jr. groomsman
The purpose of the jr. groomsman is to have him walk with the ringbearer because the ringbearer is only going to be about 20 months by the time my wedding comes.
I've seen some weddings were the groom and groomsmen are already at the head of the ceremony, I think I'm leaning towards that idea vs. the groomsmen walking with the bridesmaids.
In what order should my wedding party walk down the aisle?
I would do, have the groomsmen and bridesmaid walk in together. ring bearer with the Jr. groomsman then the flower girls so the flower will be down for you, then you. The groom waiting for you at the other side. Good luck.
Reply:Congratulations on your wedding! One thing to keep in mind is whether you want a traditional style or one that you and your fiancee` create. The focus of the wedding is supposed to be on the beautiful bride; which is why she normally enters in last. The bride's groom is awaiting her introduction into his life with the permitted vows that you both chose.
Depending on where you will be getting married, for example a church:
Imagine the two divided areas of a church, each having it's own isle of entrance. (2 side entrance isles and one center isle) While you and your groom are at the two opposite ends, the middle area provides for the entrance of your wedding party. As next to the last person enters...you and your groom are walking up the isle and then turn meeting each other at the alter.
Just a thought, but one I am sure you can work from and develop more ideas for your wonderful day! Enjoy and be safe...(smiles)
Reply:Usually the groom and groomsmen are, like you said, waiting at the front and do not walk down the aisle (well not formally). The order of walking would be the ring bearer and jr groomsman, then the flower girl (or you could swap those two around if you wish) then the bridesmaids, maid of honour (if you have one) and then yourself. That is the traditional order as far as I remember and have seen!
Reply:you can do whatever you want. you'll probably go over this during the rehearsal. your officiant might have an opinion on how it's done - I know my BFF wanted to do it one way and the priest said no. It doesn't make a difference how everyone walks in, so be vocal about how you want it done.
Reply:Well, at my older sister's wedding, we had the groomsmen each escort a bridesmaid down the aisle first, [the groom already at the front], then the ring bearer, then flowergirl, then the bride. Hope this helps! =]
